Also as far as persona 4 goes, if you backup your savegame then delete the game, then decide to reinstall later. If you put the savegame back in that location it wont show up. To get around this play the game til you get to the first save point then save your game. Then replace the savegame file that gets created with your backup. Then launch the game again, it will still show the old file name but when you load it it will be your save file, you can then immediately save again and it will show up as the save file it suppose to be.

Here you can see i replaced my save game with the garbage savegame i made in slot 3, after loading it, it loaded my savegame then i was able to resave in slot 4, if i wanted to i could have save over slot 3 updating what it said. This is probably because theres some kind of cache file somewhere that tells persona what save games are actually active or in use.
